DCResponse Powers Paintball Event
DCResponse recently powered the HK Army Shield paintball tournament in Staffordshire. The event, which ran across the 11th and 12th of June, was the third round of the Central Paintballing Premier Series (CPPS)
The CPPS is a 5 round competitive paintball tournament, held between March and September. In each round, over 80 teams from 8 divisions compete over two days. The events take place in large fields in remote locations meaning a generator is required to provide power to the scoreboards and computer systems on site.
When DCResponse became sponsors of the CPPS, we recognised that any issues with the generator would result in the event losing power and not being able to continue. In order to protect against this and to ensure all the rounds are able to go ahead as planned, we supplied them with a new generator and a UPS.
The UPS is used at all CPPS events and provides a backup power source in case any issues with the generator occur.
The value of having the UPS was demonstrated in an earlier round this year when the generator wasn’t correctly fueled. Without the UPS, the event would not have been able to continue. However, the UPS kicked in and was able to keep the scoreboards and computer systems running and the event went ahead as planned.
Miles Greenwood from DCResponse took part in the HK Army Shield with his team Reading Rampage. They finished third in this round but currently sit in first place in the CPPS ‘Breakout Division’ after an impressive first two rounds.
Ainsley Baddeley, Director of OKPB Ltd who organise the CPPS series, spoke of the importance of the UPS, he said: “At the beginning of the year, we were contacted by DC Response; after a great meeting with the team there, our power supply for 2016 will be world class. Even in the event of a generator failure, the UPS system will kick in to keep our scoreboards and computer systems running without so much as a blip. Thank you to the team at DC Response!”
